Blue & Gold

  • Pack

Hello, Cub Scout families!

I just wanted to say thank you to all those who attended our first Blue & Gold Banquet this past weekend.  It was one of the most amazing parties I’ve ever been to – this was even better than the Blue & Golds that I fondly remember from my own childhood.  We had about 120 people in attendance – the Fellowship Hall was packed to the brim!  We played games, did skits, sang (well, a little bit), made complete fun of our scout leaders, and had a beautiful ceremony sending off our Arrow of Light scouts to Troop 5.  Fun B&G prizes like glow bracelets, Mardi-Gras necklaces and limited edition patches for all Cubs in attendance – way cooler than what any other Pack does at a B&G, I bet.  The food was wonderful – thank you everyone!  And how about that Cub Scout cake and those s’mores?  Ever seen anything like that?  What a Cub Scout adventure.

You, the families of Pack 3807, made this all possible and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making this the best B&G that we could have ever have imagined.  We couldn’t have pulled it off without you.

We were also so fortunate to share our party with our brother pack, 221.  The old adage “the more, the merrier” is definitely true!  This from Jenny Kinniff, Pack 221’s Cubmaster:

“Just wanted to say congratulations to the group on a really fun event! I heard from parents who were impressed with the decorations, Blue & Gold patches, glow bracelets and necklaces. I personally loved seeing the scouts get laughs and applause for their skits, and the ceremony was great and definitely held the Cub Scouts’ attention better than most things we present to them 🙂 ... Thank you for inviting Pack 221 to share this event with you–it was really great.”

Here are some pictures of the event, courtesy of Michael Temchine, a 221 Wolf Den Leader and professional photographer.  Here’s his website:  https://michaeltemchine.com/

Cub Scouts – don’t forget to iron on your B&G patch to your red patch vest!  If you don’t have one, buy one from the Scout Shop or Etsy.

Yours in Scouting,

Cubmaster Matt
