Cub Scout Summer Camp Options!

  • Pack

Folks,

I don’t know about you, but I am looking forward to spring and summer! Sure, it will be ~60 degrees this week, but I’m guessing winter has a few more tricks up its sleeve. We have a couple of options for the summer:

  1. Cub Scout Resident Camp at Broad Creek (half a week – Harford County – see below)
  2. Cub Scout Day Camps (see attached – whole week – these are about $150, or less if you participate as a volunteer – unfortunately, there are none in the city, but their are ones in the counties around the beltway)

Cub Scout Resident Camp
Broad Creek Outer Space Adventure

It’s almost time for the 2020 Broad Creek Resident Camp Outer Space Adventure to open in Camp Saffran. The same staff, program and camp that you know and love is still here, but now with updated restrooms, aquatics, and program facilities for you to enjoy!

This also means new exciting activities. You will be able to visit our new Handicraft and Trade Skills Building where Scouts can work on craft projects along with learning some basic construction skills. New team-building activities, Cub-friendly games and challenges modeled after Project COPE for Older Scouts, will provide tons of fun for the Scouts, while Broad Creek’s remote scenery and geography will bring exciting nature hikes for the Scouts to experience.

We also have all your classic favorites:  swimming at our pool, BBs, archery, slingshots, canoeing, water sports, leatherworking, gimping, woodworking, learning first aid, knot-tying, and of course fire-building and dessert-cooking! All of this starts with a campfire in our amphitheater and closes our classic closing party and celebration. Webelos can mark their upcoming right of passage into Scouts BSA at our Project MOOSE outpost.

You bring your sleeping bag and toiletries, and everything else is waiting for you!

The costs will vary by session – there are three to choose from:

If you participate in camp cards, the money should Scout earns can go toward summer camp with an additional discount! More to come on camp cards.

It would be fun for us to go as a group, if possible, so let’s see via Doodle if there is interest and if that would work out.

If you have any questions about camp, please email me directly!

YIS,

-Dave
