*** No Pack 3807 Group Hike on Saturday – Individual Hikes Instead ***

  • Pack
Hi Pack 3807 scouts and families,

We have decided to go ahead and cancel the Pack Hike for Saturday considering the rapidly changing safety policies being implemented in the city and state. We do not feel it is a good idea to recommend having a group activity at this time.

So even though we cannot gather together as a Pack in person, we do want to encourage scouts and their families to go on a hike at your favorite park or perhaps a new park and share what you did at our next Pack and Den meetings!

If you happened to RSVP for tomorrow, please feel free to hike at Gywnns Falls/Leakin Park, even if we are not going to have a formal gathering!

What you should do:
  • Pick a day and a place to go for a hike.
    • Find a trail map and decide what route or trail you will take and how long you will hike for.
  • Wear your Cub Scout Uniform
  • Bring your 6 Essentials
  • Make sure to recite the Outdoor Code
  • Take a Notepad:
    • Record what type of trail you hiked. Is it paved, gravel, dirt? Did it go through the woods? Was it hilly? You get the idea!
    • Record what plants, animals, or signs of animals you see.
    • Record two interesting things you see on your hike that you have never seen before.
  • Remember to DO YOUR BEST and HAVE FUN!
  • Plan to share what you did on your hike with your Den and the Pack at our next meeting!
Where you can hike (Ideas only, you can choose wherever you want!):
  • Baltimore City Parks and Recreation – Trails

    • Examples: Cylburn Arboretum, Stony Run, Druid Hill, Gwynns Falls/Leakin Park, Jones Falls, Herring Run Trail
  • Baltimore County Parks
    • Lake Roland, Oregon Ridge
  • Fort McHenry National Monument & Historic Shrine
  • Maryland State Parks
      • Examples: Fort Howard, Patapsco Valley, North Point, Gunpowder Falls, Torrey C. Brown Rail Trail (NCR Trail)
What’s Next:
  • Watch out for future news about a 360 Live Hike with Cubmaster Matt.
Until next time: May the Great Scoutmaster of all Scouts be with us until we meet again!

Yours in scouting,
Chris Boyle
